Hecate
Fragrance notes
Character
Hecate opens with a sharp citrus blend that feels bright and slightly bitter. Bergamot and grapefruit lead the way, while black currant adds a dark, tart edge. Pomelo sits in the background with a clean, juicy freshness. This is not a sweet or sunny citrus. The fruit feels cool and austere, creating a crisp introduction that prepares the nose for heavier elements.
The heart turns green and medicinal. Wormwood and sage push forward with a bitter, herbal bite. Juniper reinforces that sharpness with a resinous, pine-like quality. Rose and jasmine appear, but they lack softness here. They feel dry and slightly dusty, woven into the herbs rather than standing out. Champaca and ylang-ylang add a faint, exotic weight, though the floral side never dominates the aromatic bitterness.
Leather and oakmoss form a dense, earthy base. Vetiver and guaiac wood bring a dry, smoky woodiness that feels rugged. Vanilla and cacao are present, yet they offer a dry, bitter sweetness instead of comfort. Musk and animalic notes give the fragrance a heavy, slightly dirty finish. The composition feels crowded. With so many distinct notes competing at once, the scent lacks a clear identity and becomes a muddled mix of wood, herb, and skin.
