Summer 1872
Fragrance notes
Character
Someone stepping out into bright morning air with a lightweight shirt and no heavy plans needs a scent that moves with that same ease. Summer 1872 fits that person without trying to impress anyone. It opens with a rush of citrus that feels squeezed straight from the fruit, with lime and grapefruit leading beside a brisk petitgrain and a pinch of pepper. Lavender and rosemary add a clean herbal edge while peach and pineapple bring a soft, sunny sweetness that never turns sticky. Galbanum gives the entrance a green snap that keeps the fruit from feeling like candy.
The heart settles into jasmine and freesia with a faint marigold glow, while clary sage and cyclamen keep the floral side dry and airy rather than powdery. As it develops, amber and French labdanum add a gentle warmth beneath the musk, and Virginia cedar with frankincense give the base a smooth, resinous wood that lingers close to the skin. Patchouli here is mild and earthy, supporting the greens instead of dominating. The limitation is that the blend often feels crowded, with too many notes competing at once, so no single facet gets room to breathe or leave a clear impression.
