Edge Effects opens with a mix of blood mandarin, bitter orange, and petitgrain that feels bright and slightly tart. Lavender, geranium, coriander, tarragon, and basil add an herbal, fresh spicy layer, while sandalwood and vanilla round out the top with a soft, woody sweetness. The combination stays aromatic and green rather than leaning fully into citrus or fully into spice.
The heart introduces bergamot and patchouli alongside aldehydes that give a slightly powdery lift. Oakmoss, labdanum, and hyrax bring a deep, resinous chypre character, while musk and balsam fir keep the texture smooth and gently woody. The transition feels cohesive, moving from herbal citrus to a richer, warmer spicy and woody core without sharp edges.
Base notes of tomato leaf, ylang-ylang, jasmine, peach, champaca, and damascone create a floral, fruity, and green finish. The tomato leaf adds a slightly sharp green edge that can feel synthetic next to the peach and champaca. This note sometimes clashes with the softer florals, making the drydown less balanced than the earlier stages.
