Eau du Soir 2004
Fragrance notes
Character
The mandarin orange and grapefruit open with a clean, tart brightness that feels like a cool evening breeze through an open window. Lilac and jasmine arrive quickly, soft and slightly soapy. The iris lends a dry, root-like texture that keeps the flowers from feeling too lush.
Ylang-ylang and rose sit beside carnation and lily-of-the-valley, creating a traditional floral heart that feels composed and deliberate. Juniper and pepper add a small prickly edge to the green mass of oakmoss and patchouli. French labdanum warms the center without making it heavy.
Musk and amber settle underneath, giving the whole composition a powdery, mossy finish that clings to fabric and skin with a quiet presence. It is an elegant, old-school arrangement that demands a certain patience from the wearer. The sheer number of ingredients creates a busy, crowded impression that can feel slightly muddled rather than perfectly clear.
