Midnight Datura
Fragrance notes
Character
Midnight Datura crowds the air with too much at once. The tuberose and jasmine sit beside rum, cloves, and nutmeg in a way that feels heavy before it feels composed. There is a point where the vanilla and amber tip the balance toward something cloying, and the patchouli and balsam fir cannot quite pull it back.
Picture a dim room with low lamps and wood panels, where a glass of dark spirit rests on a table and the air feels thick with heat and perfume. The heliotrope and violet add a soft powder, while the mandarin orange and bergamot flash briefly against the deeper rose and lily-of-the-valley. Green leaves and artemisia give a bitter edge that keeps the sweetness from taking over completely. Sandalwood, cedar, and musk hold the base together, and the pepper and lavender add a flicker of coolness that does not last.
The animalic accord runs strong, and on skin it can feel overwhelming rather than seductive. For some wearers the density becomes a problem, and the magnolia and datura only add to the weight. Midnight Datura asks for restraint, and without it the composition turns heavy in a way that limits how often it can be worn.
