Our take

Kenzo Kenzo opens with a sticky, jammy peach and plum glossed over by a tart citrus edge, but the spices and orange blossom quickly step in to cut the sweetness. It builds into a dense floral center where tuberose and ylang ylang wrestle with powdery orris and a faintly soapy lily of the valley, while coriander and caraway add a dusty, almost fuzzy heat. The base settles into a mossy amber with patchouli’s dark green bitterness and a whisper of animalic musk that keeps the whole thing from floating away into pure custard. The overall impression is a vintage silk scarf left in a sun-warmed drawer: floral, a little musty, and carrying the ghost of someone’s perfumed skin from a decade past.

This feels like a proper old school floral bouquet, neither synthetic nor shrill, though it leans sweet and powdery in a way modern noses might find dated. The sillage stays close to the skin after the first hour (the 3.49 rating is honest), and longevity hovers around moderate, fading into a vanilla musk skin scent by lunchtime. It is not a monster, and that is fine; it wants intimacy, not announcements.

It suits someone who loves a full, baroque white floral with fruity warmth and does not mind a touch of animalic rumble underneath. Skip it if you prefer clean laundry scents or crisp aquatics. Best worn on a cool spring afternoon or a mild autumn evening, ideally for a daytime outing where you want to feel cozily elegant rather than aggressively modern. One spritz on the chest, and let the plum and tuberose do the talking.
