Arabia Hamad
Fragrance notes
Character
Arabia Hamad opens with a sharp green bite. Galbanum leads the top notes, supported by grapefruit, bergamot, lime, lemon, thyme and artemisia. The citrus is tart rather than sweet, and the herbs add a dry, slightly bitter edge. This opening feels brisk and upright, more stem than flower. The heart quickly fills in with cypriol oil, nagarmotha and vetiver, which push the fragrance into woody and earthy territory. Apple and black currant bring a light fruitiness, but they do not soften the structure. Juniper berries and pink pepper add a clean, fresh spice. Jasmine, lily-of-the-valley and rose sit quietly in the background, providing a faint floral lift that never dominates. Cedar reinforces the wood accords already present in the core.
The base rests on ambergris, vanilla, labdanum, benzoin and leather. The vanilla and benzoin add a mild resinous warmth, while labdanum and ambergris deepen the amber accord. Leather gives the drydown a firm, slightly animalic character that matches the green and woody themes above. The overall impression is aromatic, citrus-driven and firmly masculine, with a dry herbal spine that runs from the first spray to the final notes. The composition is crowded. With eleven heart notes and five base notes, individual elements sometimes blur together rather than standing apart, and the leather can feel heavy against the bright opening.
